Seven Secrets to Home Business Success

What the Experts Say and My Twenty-Two Years of Experience

You have dreamed of making it big, having no money problems, driving the nice car and living in your dream home with no financial worries. If you are struggling to make it in a home business, join the crowd! The experts I’ve read put the number of home business failures by the fifth year at 90-95%. Not very encouraging is it. But hang on, don’t leave this page yet, there is good news…

Picture Yourself…

But first let’s dream a little. Picture yourself for a moment, getting HUGE deposits in your bank account on a regular basis, let’s be conservative and say just $7,828.90 per month. All of the sudden you life gets much easier. Your not a millionaire yet, but you can drive the kind of car you want to drive (Compliments of your home business), pay all of your bills on time, get out of debt, and maybe even buy your dream home. The month to month money struggles are over!

Then let’s take it step further, let’s say that your checks grow to $19,297 a month! That’s $231,640 per year. Not only are you living well, but you can put some money aside for retirement. And that’s not the best part, it’s residual income. You can relax, spend time with your family, take frequent vacations, set your own hours and work only when you want to work! How is that for freedom…

But that’s not as far as you can go. Take a moment and consider this – You can give it another push and create whatever income you desire! I know you are thinking right now that all this sounds great, but is it really possible for me? I want to submit to you that it is not only possible, but highly probable if you follow the instructions on this page…

Make Your Dreams Come True…

I want to give you some information that could very well make your dreams come true.

We will start with some home business facts; A recent IDC survey indicates that the average income for income-generating home office households is $63,000 a year. 89% with household incomes greater than $80,000 have a home office compared to 14% of those with incomes below $25,000. In other words, those who make the money, have a home office!

Let’s take a look at what the numbers really mean. It is estimated that there are 1,500 home business start-ups every day in the US alone. That’s 10,500 start-ups per week. If we use the highest reports of failure rates (worse case)… 95% fail, that means that there will still be 525 of those starting this week, in business five years from now….

On this page I am going to show you how to improve your chances of getting in that top 5% exponentially! You don’t have to become a failure statistic!

My Ups and Downs…

My name is Ray Matthews and I have been working at home since October of 1986. I passed the five year mark in 1991 and my income at that point was triple what I made as an Test Engineer at a major IT company and I did it from the comfort of my home. I’m not saying that to brag, I just want you to know that I’m not just some guy on the internet blowing smoke and giving you some information without some experience behind it. But let me tell you it’s been a lot of years of ups and downs, successes and failures, great gains and great losses.

I have had to have government help to feed my family at times— you do what you have to do— I even lost a house to foreclosure once and I have made a six-figure income as well for a long season. In all of the ups and downs I have noticed some patterns that caused me to prosper and when these keys were finally in place I began the journey into life long prosperity.

Are You Ready to Get Real?…

To start, let’s look at what you are probably doing right…

There are some things that you are most likely doing great at; You probably work hard, I always have. You may stay up late at night. You may not watch much TV. You may work on the weekends. You are probably sacrificing your time and even your money to get your business off the ground. And like most, you have probably felt like giving up more than many times… Well it takes hard work and some financial commitment, no matter what home business you choose.

You may have a great product or service! This is another key element but none of these are as important as what I am about to share with you. You can work until you drop, you can commit all of your money (or maybe your spouse or family’s money and your credit cards) and you can have the greatest product, opportunity, or service on the planet, but if you don’t have these seven keys in place, you will most likely end up like the 90-95% that don’t make it after five years.

I want to attempt to convey to you some real reasons for failure, that if you deal with these properly, you CAN’T FAIL!

Here is a list of seven keys that I have noted over the last twenty-two years that will cause me or anyone else attempting a home business to do well and prosper.

Secret #1

A Solid Plan + Consistent Action = Consistent Success

Businesses are not built overnight. It takes consistent planning along with consistent follow up in order to succeed long term. When you work for someone else, as most of us have, you usually have to clock in or report at a specified time, work a certain number of hours, and leave at the same time every day. While you are there you are forced to focus on the tasks that are given to you to perform and you do them consistently, every day, week after week.

When we work at home, it’s much more difficult to keep a schedule of consistent activity. It takes dedication to a set of specific tasks, performed on a consistent bases, in order to succeed in any home business. Here is the key that I have found.

Make the list of daily activities, and perform those tasks every day!

Make a plan, and stick to it. You can be extraordinary and ahead of the pack if you do this. And remember, you won’t have to do this forever, just until you get your business moving.

I want to show you how to develop a winning plan and then it’s up to you to stick with it!

Secret #2

Three Ways to Generate Cash

If you don’t have cash flow, everything stops! You can’t advertise, you can’t pay your bills, you just can’t keep going. This leads to reasons number five, six, and seven why home businesses fail. There are three solutions to this:

One is borrowing money. Borrowing is good in some circumstances, but should be avoided unless you have great confidence in your ability to pay it back. The other problem with borrowing is that it takes you longer to get into the profit mode.

The second solution is to get a job and work your home business part time. Here the drawback is it takes longer to get your business up and running and takes all of your spare time. This is probably the safer than the other two however.

The third way is to have a way to generate immediate cash flow with very little cash out. Find a company that provides a way to generate consistent cash flow whenever you need, then you can have the cash you need to live on and pay bills while you build your long term residual income business.

Secret #3

Relationship Building is Vital to Your Success

If you are new to business and marketing, the learning curve can be a HUGE barrier to your getting your business started. Long term success and big business ownership comes with teamwork and training. You need to think like a manager of assets, with support above you and team players to magnify your efforts. Long term relationships are vital to the life of a business if you want a long term business that will bless your children and their children.

One solution would be to hire some talented people and surround yourself with people who will catapult your business to success. Again, you need lots of cash to do that. And support just doesn’t exist unless you can pay for the training and consulting you need to insure your success.

The best solution is to join with a company that allows you to be an independent business owner, but supplies you with all of the support and training you will need at little or no cost to you.

To magnify your efforts you need people who will work for you without you having to pay them out of your hard earned (or borrowed) cash.

Secret #4

Remove Work at Home Distractions and Win BIG!

Another major contributor to home business failure is the distractions that are inherent to being at home with your family during working hours.

There are many things that can steal your energy and focus if you have a business in your home. If you quit work with the intention of spending 10, 12, 14, or even 16 hours working at home, you find out pretty soon that there are real problems with taking that time to work without 101 distractions every day.

What I have discovered over the years is that your friends who visit you, your children, and even your spouse can distract you to the point of wasting not minutes or hours, but days! These kinds of distractions can lead quickly to loss of income and eventually even cause your business to fail.

You have to develop a mental toughness and determination to stick to a set number of hours per day and not be distracted. I’m not saying that you will have no social life, you just have to get control of who you hang out with and when. Set aside some time for the important people in your life, but keep your consistent work schedule. If you don’t control your time, events and people will.

It’s up to you to develop a determination to deal with only the important things and let go of the rest!

Secret #5

Deal With Discouragement – Your in For the Long Haul

All of the above can lead to discouragement and cause you to want to give up. I believe that most people quit just before their breakthrough! What a shame it would be if a six-figure income was just around the corner for you and you decided that it was just too difficult to keep going and you quit!

The best solution to fight discouragement is to deal head-on with reasons one through four above.

Another very important antidote to discouragement is to keep an attitude of thankfulness. If you have the cash flow, the support, the consistent action, and have dealt effectively with the distractions, there is no reason why you will not succeed. Keep your head up. Imagine how things will be once you achieve your goals. Forge ahead with confidence and remember that it will not be this difficult forever.

Secret #6

Eliminate Fatigue With Personal Development

Fatigue comes with the mundane tasks that must be part of your daily life to make it in business. The answer that will keep your dream alive and fight off fatigue is to keep regrouping and readjusting. What I mean by this is, you will grow as a person as your business grows. See each day as a challenge in personal development. You will learn new and exciting things, make it an adventure in personal development and growth.

You need a company that’s focused on your personal development as well as your success! That company will be successful and will help you to be your best and avoid the fatigue of not knowing what to do and when to do it.

Secret #7

Focus on One Thing at a Time

The seventh reason that home businesses fail is divided focus. Moving from one product to another, one opportunity to another, trying two or three different things at one time is very difficult to manage. You are just one person and you need to put 100% of your focus into one venture at a time. Find that niche, lock into it, and stick with it until you succeed.

Find a proven product or company to sink your teeth into and grab it like a bull dog. If you have the right opportunity, the right product or service and you deal with these seven reasons why businesses fail, your chances of being in the top five percent will go through the roof!

To Your Personal Success and Prosperity.
